Meet the Heart Behind This Chick Cares
Hi, I'm Michelle and I am the heart and hands behind This Chick Cares.
What started as a creative outlet became a mission to give back, uplift others, and create meaningful pieces that tell real stories.
This brand was built on compassion, resilience, and the belief that even the smallest acts of kindness can change lives.

This Chick Cares was born from a life shaped by both unimaginable pain and incredible resilience.

I am a stage 3 throat cancer survivor. I have been in recovery from addiction for several years.
I have lived and loved people through mental illness, trauma, and loss.
And through it all I chose to keep going--and to turn my experiences into something that helps others feel less alone.
I lost my grandmother to colon cancer and my mother-inlaw to breast cancer.

Over the years, I have lost my stepfather, best friend, brother ,and brother-in-law to suicide.
My father, grandfathers, father-in-law and several more friends and loved ones were all veterans, and their lives taught me deep respect for service, sacrifice, and unseen battles they carry.

I have spent my life rescuing animals, caring for the vulnerable, and standing beside people when they needed a helping hand or someone who truly understood.
Why I Started This Chick Cares
This business is not just about jewelry, clothing or unique finds.

It exists because:
-
I know what it feels like to fight for your life.
-
I know what it means to rebuild after addiction.
-
I know the weight of grief, trauma, addiction, and mental illness.
-
And I know how powerful hope becomes when someone chooses to care.

Every collection, every cause we support, and every community space we create comes from lived experience to help others heal, connect, and keep moving forward.
More Than a Brand--A Community
This Chick Cares is a place for survivors.
For caregivers.
For families touched by cancer, addiction, mental illness, loss, and recovery.
For animal lovers and advocates.
For veterans and those who love them.
For anyone who has ever felt alone in a struggle.

Her, your story matters.
Your pain is valid.
Your hope is real.

And you are always welcome.

"If you're still standing, still trying, still caring -- you belong here."
